PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information transmission / reception system wherein mobile communication terminals can efficiently acquire message information such as characters, image or voice wherein one of the mobile communication terminals is related to the position information of the other. SOLUTION: A position information reception section 12 receives the position information of trucks A, B and C and stores the position information to a position information database 20, a message reception section 14 receives message information sent from the sender truck B to the destination truck A and stores the message information to a message database 22. A map information provisioning section 16 at this storage acquires the position information of the truck B of a message sender from the position information database 20 and provides the position information in cross-reference with the map information in a map database 24 to an in-vehicle terminal 30a of the truck A. When the position of the sender truck B is designated on a map displayed on the in-vehicle terminal 30a through this provisioning, a message transmission section 18 provides the message information stored in the message database to the destination in-vehicle terminal 30a.
