PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical diffusion film having high optical beam transmissivity and sufficient light diffusion property, having friction resistance and enhancing the front intensity of a surface light source device or the like, in a laminated layer of the thermoplastic film and a light diffusion layer. SOLUTION: The light diffusion layer, comprising a resin binder and spherical porous silica whose average primary particle diameter is 2.5μm or larger and 10μm or smaller, is laminated on at least one-sided face of the thermoplastic film, and the amount of the spherical porous silica contained in the light diffusion layer is 5 wt% or larger and smaller than 40 wt%.
