PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for image processing for enabling read of an image and exposure with a single light source and making the apparatus small-sized and inexpensive. SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 10 is equipped in a housing 11 with: a single light source unit 102; a scanner unit 101 which reads a film image; and an exposure unit 201 which prints the image read by the scanner unit 101 on a photosensitive material such as photographic paper. The light emitted by the light source unit 102 is split into 1st light B1 reflected on a half-mirror 121 and 2nd light B2 transmitted through the half-mirror 121. The 1st light B1 reflected on the half-mirror 121 is guided to the scanner unit 101. The 2nd light B2 transmitted through the half-mirror 121, on the other hand, is guided to the exposure unit 201.
