PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for a vehicle which easily deals with a various variations, excellent in design and excellent in visibility for contents of display. SOLUTION: A dial plate 21 is composed of a hollow or a transparent see through region 21a, and an analog display region 21b formed with a prescribed display design, and surrounding the see through region 21a. In front of the dial plate 21, a pointer 16, a movement 12, and a power transmission mechanism part are arranged. and in back of the dial plate 21 a light source 26 for illuminating the pointer 16 is arranged. The pointer 16 to which a power from a movement 12 is transmitted via the power transmission mechanism part, indicates a prescribed display design in an analogue display region 21b. Thereby, the display of this device is fundamentally an analogue display, but information from back side is also displayed in front of the device via the see though region 21a. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
