PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesium alloy sheet which has sufficient strength and excellent bending workability, and to provide a method for producing the magnesium alloy sheet. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the magnesium alloy sheet where the magnesium alloy sheet comprising, by mass, 0.1 to 10.0% Al and 0.1 to 4.0% Zn is rolled with a rolling roll, the surface temperature of the magnesium alloy sheet directly before insertion into the rolling roll is controlled≤100°C, and the surface temperature of the rolling roll is controlled to 100 to 300°C. Particularly, on rolling composed of multipasses, nonpreheat rolling in which the surface temperature of the magnesium alloy sheet and the surface temperature of the rolling roll are prescribed is performed at least in the final one pass.
