PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a method for efficiently proliferating a lactic acid bacterium in a solid culture medium and to provide a Koji having an increased cell number. SOLUTION: A method for producing a lactic acid bacterial Koji comprises culturing the lactic acid bacterium in the solid culture medium containing calcium carbonate or hydrotalcite added to a plant body when the solid culture of the lactic acid bacterium is carried out. In the method for producing the lactic acid bacterial Koji, the solid culture medium is the plant body obtained by culturing a mold. Wheat embryos, rice embryos, soybean embryos, corn embryos, soybeans, Koji wheat or Koji barley, wheat, wheat bran, rice, sorghum, corn, Cicer arietinum L., barley, sesame or buckwheat, etc., are used as the plant body.
