The printer has a cylinder (12) fitted on a first cylinder stud (14) with a whip ring (30) which is housed in the side door (26) and which is removed from the stud when the door is opened. A bearing box (58) of the first bearing (22) can be fixed by fixing elements (63, 65) on the first cylinder stud on the side door. The whip ring can be axially loaded with force by a resetting element.
