<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for production of 4-acetoxy-3-hydroxybutanoic acid ester. <P>SOLUTION: The method for production of 4-acetoxy-3-hydroxybutanoic acid ester comprises a step to allow a 4-acetoxy-3-oxobutanoic acid ester expressed by formula (1) to act on a transformant or its killed cell, artificially provided with a potency to produce the 4-acetoxy-3-hydroxybutanoic acid ester of formula (2) by reducing a ketone on the 3 position of the 4-acetoxy-3-oxobutanoic acid ester expressed by formula (1) and a potency to regenerate a coenzyme on which the enzyme having the potency is dependent, and a step collecting the produced 4-acetoxy-3-hydroxybutanoic acid ester expressed by formula (2). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
