<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and highly accurately input information such as a character string, a table and graphics from an existing document to the electronic(E)-document by detecting the accurate position and attribute of a processing target in a document specified by a specification means, performing processing suited to character recognition, table recognition, graphic processing, etc. from an image picked up on the basis of the detected position and attribute and sticking the processed result the E-document in a document information input program and document information input device and method for recognizing information from the existing document and inputting the information to the document. <P>SOLUTION: A computer is allowed to execute the document information input program as a means for detecting a processing target area in the existing document which is specified by the specification means, a means for recognizing characters in an image of the read processing target area and a means for sticking the character recognition result to a corresponding position on a picture. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
