PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin film suitable for glass protecting application, especially for protecting a glass for displaying such as a flat display. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic resin film is prepared by laminating at least five layers in the thickness direction and has the absolute difference between the Young's modulus EMD in the longitudinal direction of the film and the Young's modulus ETD in the width direction of the film (¾EMD-ETD¾) of at least 1.0 GPa. In addition, the total light transmittance is≥80%, and the haze is≤3%, and tearing strengths in the longitudinal direction of the film and/or in the width direction of the film are≥50 N/mm.
