PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a member for introducing ink in an inkjet printer capable of performing idle suction of ink efficiently for forming a suction passage between the member and a suction cap without inclining the bottom face thereof. SOLUTION: When a member 30 for introducing ink having a passage 31 of a specified length engages with a suction cap 7a for sucking ink by enclosing the ink ejection opening of a print head and having an opening for discharging the received ink, the passage 31 formes a suction passage leading to the ink discharging opening between the member 30 and the suction cap 7a.
