PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a correction agent for a planographic printing plate exhibiting high performance of a carbonic ester, capable of exhibiting an excellent erasing function and capable of avoiding deterioration such as generation of gas during storage and deformation of a storage container, and to provide a kit for preparing a correction agent for a planographic printing plate. SOLUTION: When the correction agent is used for correction of the planographic printing plate, a previously prepared solution containing at least a carbonic ester is mixed with a previously prepared solution containing at least an acidic compound to prepare the correction agent. The kit for preparing the correction agent for a planographic printing plate includes a container holding a solution containing at least a carbonic ester and a container holding a solution containing at least an acidic compound.
