PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolytic capacitor having a large capacitance with excellent high-frequency response. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing the solid electrolytic capacitor includes the steps of forming an anode 1a at an end of a valve metal foil 1 having a valve metal porous layer 2 formed on a surface; sequentially forming a dielectric film, a solid electrolyte layer 3, and a current collector layer 4 on the porous layer 2; forming an anode leading electrode 5 connected to the anode 1a and a cathode leading electrode 6 connected to the layer 4; forming a sheath 7 made of a resin containing an inorganic filler 8; and forming an end face electrode 9 connected to ends of at least anode leading electrode 5 and the cathode leading electrode 6 at both ends of this sheath 7.
