PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a plasma display panel applying phosphor accurately and evenly without sedimentation of phosphor between barrier ribs (discharge cell), suppressing generation of nozzle glazing or discharge failure, and having excellent injection stability. SOLUTION: Two substrates 10, 20 are disposed facing each other across a pre-determined space. A barrier rib 30 is disposed between the substrates 10, 20 to divide the space between the substrates 10, 20 into plural of spaces. A phosphor layer 35 is formed by using an ink jet device 101 to apply phosphor in a recess part (discharge cell 31) formed between barrier ribs 30, 30, to produce a plasma display panel 1.
