PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image of high definition by suppressing the occurrence of a ghost image at an electrophotographic process of directly injecting a charge to a charge injection layer, in an electrophotographic device wherein an electrophotographic photoreceptor having the charge injection layer with conductive particles dispersed on the uppermost surface is brought into contact with the contact surface of the photoreceptor charging member while carrying conductive particles so as to charge the photoreceptor surface while giving a speed difference. SOLUTION: As to the image forming apparatus wherein a voltage is applied on the charging member constituted of an elastic body, and then, the electrophotographic photoreceptor having the charge injection layer on the uppermost surface is brought into contact with the contact surface of the charging member while carrying the conductive particles so as to electrify the electrophotographic photoreceptor while giving the speed difference, an intermediate layer is arranged between the photoreceptive layer and the charge injection layer of the electrophotographic photoreceptor, then, the recombination of the charge shifted to the photoreceptive layer through the intermediate layer and the surface charge by the charging can be surely performed, then, even when the volume resistivity of the charge injection layer is controlled by the dispersion of the conductive particles, when the image of high definition free from the ghost can be obtained.
