PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an impulsive sound when urine collides with a water surface by distributing bubbles to the water surface in a toilet bowl. SOLUTION: This western-style toilet bowl 1 has a bowl part 2 for receiving a waste material and a trap part 3 connected to the lower end of the bowl part 2 and keeping a constant water level in the bowl part 2. An opening 2b is arranged below the water surface 7a of a wall surface 2a of the bowl part 2. A bubble generator 9 is arranged for distributing the bubbles 13 to the water surface 7a by discharging the bubbles 13 into the water 7 in the bowl part 2. An air blower 11 for supplying air is connected to the bubble generator 9, and can thus reduce the impulsive sound when the urine collides with the water surface 7a. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
