PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a photocatalyst by which calcium phosphate is formed on the surface of a metal oxide in such a short period of time as only enough to satisfy industrial application. SOLUTION: The method of producing a photocatalyst includes a step ST100 for mixing a powdery metal oxide as a starting material in a stock solution, a step ST102 for dispersing the powdery metal oxide mixed in the stock solution, a step ST104 for irradiating those with microwaves, a step ST106 for separating the metal oxide from the stock solution by filtration, and a step ST108 for drying the separated metal oxide by heating.
