PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and equipment for backwashing filtration equipment, by which a filter element of a filtration equipment can be used stably for a long period of time by restraining the rise of differential pressure with time and just after backwash, the usage of a backwashing gas can be reduced and the filter element can be backwashed efficiently and which are extermely useful parctically. SOLUTION: In the method and equipment for backwashing the filtration equipment to be backwashed constituted so that the supplied dust-containing gas is filtered and cleaned by a porous filter and then discharged as a clean gas, the fouling factor of the filter element in use is calculated from the differential pressure between the supplied dust-containing gas and the discharged clean gas and the volume, temperature and pressure of the supplied dust-containing gas, the backwashing pressure of the backwashing gas for backwashing the porous filter is controlled according to the calculated fouling factor, and the method and the equipment are provided with a controller for sending a control signal and a means for changing the backwashing pressure of the backwashing gas on the basis of the control signal sent by the controller.
