METHOD OF REDUCING THE SIZE OF AN RSA OR RABIN SIGNATURE

The RSA cryptographic algorithm is the most commonly used public key cryptographic algorithm. The invention consists in defining a method that can be used to reduce the size of the signatures to be transmitted and stored. The invention can be easily used in a chip card type of portable electronic component. Signature verification comprises a method consisting in solving a modulo N or degree E polynomial equation, wherein N is an integer and E is the public exponent.
