The rear of the vehicle (1) is covered (17) by a top segment (19) resting on a lateral frame (15) and swivel mounted (21) to a rear segment (16) holding a swivel mounted lower segment. For conversion the upper segment (19) can be slid into a space below the roof (11, 20) while the rear segment (16) is moved towards the front, separating the passenger cabin (2) from a loading area (3) created in the process. If only a small separate loading space is required the lower segment can be swiveled to the rear into a horizontal position.
