The operating handle (2) of the parking brake (1) is located between the gear shift lever (11) and the front end of the horizontal part of an armrest (4) on top of the central elevation of the vehicle. The handle (2) has a horizontally positioned upper end covered with a soft material and forms a straight line with the armrest (4). The upper surface of the padded area (2) is flat, facilitating the use as an extension of the already existing armrest (4) or on its own.
