<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent idea for overcoming competition among providers providing services without turning to easy price-cutting competition such as "to cut service unit costs" in a downloading service of ringing melodies. <P>SOLUTION: In a method for providing a content downloading service, such as incoming call or holding melodies which are used in a portable terminal (11), the service unit cost of each of contents is determined in accordance with the added value of each of the contents applied to the downloading service, and the determined service unit cost is inputted to a content database (32) connected to a service providing server (31). When a user (1) of the downloading service wants to download the contents, a charging rate for the user (1) is calculated by multiplying the service unit cost inputted to the content database (32) by the number of downloaded contents and charges for the user. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
