PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor to which a plurality of kinds of image inputting devices can be connected and image data is entered from the image inputting devices connected that permits an efficient input of image data, and a control method therefor, and a computer-readable memory. SOLUTION: It is judged whether the image inputting devices connected have a power saving function that automatically turns off a power source when left alone for a prescribed time. If it is judged that the image inputting devices connected have the power saving function, a command instructing the retention of the passage of power of the image inputting devices is issued every prescribed time.
