PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boosting circuit having high voltage-boosting efficiency without generating current concentration from an input power source to a specific circuit element. SOLUTION: Boosting circuits units 10 to 40 are activated by supplying clock signals CLK from OSC 21 to the boosting circuit units 10 to 40 connected in four steps in series. Delay elements 31 to 33 are inserted in the line of the clock signals CLK to prevent all the boosting circuit units from being activated by one-time clock signal CLK. This insertion of the delay elements 31 to 33 activates the boosting circuit units one by one so that a current from a power supply voltage Vcc can be prevented from concentrating on the circuit element connected closest to the input terminal of the boosting circuit 10, and thereby the boosting circuit having high-voltage-boosting efficiency can be obtained.
