PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably reduce artifacts caused by an SVM by removing an interference which occurs during the operation of an OSD generator in a television receiver. SOLUTION: A scan speed modulating means is provided with a controllable amplifier whose clipping level is variable. A noise eliminating (noise coring) means eliminates noise (middle portion of noise) on a driving stage (driver stage) in a level which is not changed even when the clipping level is varied.
