PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PNPN switch hardly causing malfunction at room temperature without decreasing ignition sensitivity at low temperatures. SOLUTION: The PNPN switch 1 includes a light emitting element 9; a PNPN element 2; and a P-gate control circuit 3 comprising a circuit connecting a first division resistor 4 and a second division resistor 5 in series, a circuit connecting a first gate voltage adjustment resistor 6 and a second gate voltage adjustment resistor 7 in series, and a MOSFET 8. When the ambient temperature of the PNPN switch 1 is decreased, the MOSFET 8 transits from a conductive state into a cut-off state to increase the resistance of the P gate control circuit 3 thereby preventing the reduction in the ignition sensitivity of the PNPN element 2.
