PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp in which fall-off of the fluorescent substance hardly happens in the vicinity of the end part of the fluorescent substance layer that is formed on the inner wall of a lamp container tube. SOLUTION: This is a fluorescent lamp 10 that comprises a lamp container 12 in which an outer tube 16 is sealed airtight by an inner tube 18 and a fluorescent substance layer 14 which is formed on the inner face of the lamp container 12. The thickness in the vicinity of the end part of the above fluorescent substance layer 14 is gradually reduced toward the end part 40. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
