PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently secure the adhesive strength of a spherical lens to a fixed base plate, to sufficiently secure a light input effective area in the spherical lens and to extend the degree of freedom in design. SOLUTION: In an optical device 10A, a cross groove 20 and array grooves 22A to 22D are formed to cross with each other on the surface of the fixed substrate 12, and spherical lenses 16 are supported at contact points on four ridges formed at the respective intersections 24 of the groove 20 and the grooves 22A to 22D, whereby the lenses 16 are positioned and fixed on the substrate 12.
