PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent composition mild to the skin and having high thickening properties and high foamability. SOLUTION: The detergent composition contains (a) a mono-alkyl phosphate of formula (1), (b) a dialkyl phosphate of formula (2) and (c) an alkanolamide of formula (3) regulated so that the ratio of the components (a) to (b) is (65/35)-(90/10). (In the formulas (1), (2) and (3), R<SP>1</SP>is an average 8-16C alkyl group; X<SP>1</SP>, X<SP>2</SP>and X<SP>3</SP>are each H or an alkali metal; n is a number of 0-5; R<SP>2</SP>is an average 7-17C linear alkyl group or the like; R<SP>3</SP>is H or a methyl group; R<SP>4</SP>is OH or H, with the proviso that at least one thereof is OH; and m is a number of 1-5).
