PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a cosmetic having good bleaching effect, containing a phosphatidylcholine bearing a specific straight-chain fatty acid residue and an ascorbic acid compound. SOLUTION: This cosmetic having good bleaching effect is obtained by using a combination of the ascorbic acid compound such as ascorbic acid or a salt thereof, an ascorbic phosphoric ester, an ascorbic fatty acid ester or ascorbic acid glucoside which inhibits the activity of tyrosinase forming melanin from tyrosine or has the activity of returning a deep-colored oxidized melanin to a light-colored reduced melanin with the phosphatidylcholine where the fatty acid residue at 1-site of the glyceroskeleton represents the straight long-chain fatty acid and that at 2-site a straight saturated medium-chain fatty acid.
