PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology for improving production efficiency of reducing sugar, with which unnecessary substances existing together in a reducing sugar-containing solution are removed by a simple method. SOLUTION: The method for purifying reducing sugar comprises treating the reducing sugar-containing solution, which is obtained by treating a natural product containing reducing sugar as a constituent saccharide with an enzyme and releasing reducing sugar, at 50-80°C at pH 8.5-10.5 by a carbonic acid saturation method to remove insoluble matters.
