PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide powder containing silica coated zinc oxide fine particles which is capable of easily forming a thin film, a fine fiber or the like free from weathering degradation and having sufficient ultraviolet ray shielding ability, an organic polymer composition containing the same and a molded article using the organic polymer composition. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic polymer composition and the molded article containing the silica coated zinc oxide-containing powder are obtained using the silica coated zinc oxide-containing powder containing a small quantity of coarse grains, that is, containing≤0.1 mass% coarse grain having≥5μm particle diameter.
