PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a monitoring system for an elevator capable of improving safety and security performance in a car of the elevator. SOLUTION: The monitoring system for an elevator comprises a camera 3 shooting the inside of the car 1 of the elevator, a car weight detecting means 4 detecting the weight in the car 1, and a controlling means transferring a monitored image by the camera 3 to a maintenance company 20 when calling is not generated during a predetermined period and the car weight detecting means detects the weight in the car.
