PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission providing a multi-stage speed change of seven-stage of advancement by two pairs of epicyclic gear devices. SOLUTION: A pinion P1 of a first epicyclic gear device 12 and an outer pinion P2 out of a second epicyclic gear 14 are integrally structured. A first rotation element M1 is constructed by a sun gear S1, a second rotation element M2 by connecting carriers CA1 and CA2 with each other, a third rotation element M3 by a ring gear R2, a fourth rotation element by a ring gear R1 and a fifth rotation element M5 by a sun gear S2. Elements M5, M3, M2 are respectively connected to an input shaft 16 via clutches C1, C2, C3. The elements M3, M2, M1 are respectively connected to a case 20 via brakes B1, B2, B3. The element M4 is integrally connected to an output gear 18. According to an operation table of (b), seven-stages of advancement of 1st-7th are established. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
