PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wall surface of good appearance having high thermal insulation efficiency. SOLUTION: A building is structured by assembling column members 21 erected on a sill 11 assembled to be frame-like, wall members 22 stacked in multiple tiers between the column members 21, and a roof 41 mounted on beam members 31 which are laid on the column members 21. The wall members 22 form a wooden wall surface in a manner that a linear projection formed on the upper surface of the lower wall member is inserted into an engaging groove formed in the lower surface of the upper wall member, and tenons of both ends of the wall member are inserted into holding grooves of the column member 21, respectively.
