The axial positioning device positions a component, e.g. a ball bearing (26,28), along a shaft (20) of a DC electric motor via at least one shaft projection which is formed by plastic deformation, e.g. a number of projections equi-angularly spaced around the outside of the motor shaft, positioned at one side edge or a peripheral groove around the outside of the shaft.
