<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which can estimate the amount of codes in compressed image data without reducing a continuous shooting speed. <P>SOLUTION: The image processor 100 includes an image signal reader 3 for reading out an image signal present in a read image zone included in an image area corresponding to one display screen from a memory 6, a code amount estimator 4 for estimating the amount of codes in an encoded image signal, an encoder 5 for encoding the image signal into the coded image signal, a processing time calculator 2 for calculating a total processing time corresponding to the sum of a time necessary for the estimator 4 to estimate the code amount and a time necessary for the encoder 5 to encode the image signal, and a system controller 1 for changing the size of the read image zone from which the reader 3 reads out the image signal according to a total processing time calculated by the calculator 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
