<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately estimate a range of a color reproduced by using color materials, i.e. a color gamut. <P>SOLUTION: Primary color dot gain correction for correcting each primary color of recording materials to be used on the basis of an ejecting quantity is performed (3, 4, 5, 9, 10), and mixed colors in each combination of the ejection quantity of the recording materials to be used are estimated by using the corrected primary color (11). Furthermore, an ink superimposing correcting section 12 corrects each of the mixed colors estimated by an estimated initial value calculating section 11 by using correction coefficients (6, 7, 8) determined on the basis of the difference between the actually measured color of a patch and the color of this patch estimated by the above estimating means. A color gamut predicting unit 14 predicts a color gamut which can be reproduced by the combinations of the recording materials to be used, on the basis of the mixed color estimated in this way. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
