<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter for efficiently cleaning drinking water and domestic or industrial wastewater, which can effectively remove impurities contained, and a filter for refining and decoloring capable of efficiently removing impurities in the course of refining and decoloring. <P>SOLUTION: The filter uses cotton as a raw material, is made of carbonized cotton obtained by burning the cotton, adsorbs and removes organic or inorganic molecules dissolved in water, and is produced by burning cotton at temperatures of 380-600°C exceeding a complete pyrolysis temperature of the cotton in an inert gas atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
