PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote monitoring device for an elevator capable of properly coping with damage to a security camera, abnormality in the security camera and an image recording device, etc., in accordance with contents or importance of the abnormality. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a control center reporting means 22 to report abnormality in the elevator 1 to a control center 4 when detecting the abnormality, a crime preventing center reporting means 27 to report abnormality in image input states from the security camera 17 on a car 13 to a crime preventing center 3, and a service station reporting means 29 to report abnormality in an image recording device 18 to record images in the security camera 17 to a service station 5 when detecting the abnormality. Targets to report are thus discriminated in accordance with contents of the abnormality, thereby each abnormality can be reported to a proper station. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
