PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering gear for a vehicle of a steer-by-wire system capable of cutting mechanical connection between a steering member and a steering wheel capable of performing favorable steering even in the occurrence of an abnormality in an actuator for steering and/or an actuator for reaction. SOLUTION: This steering gear functions as the steer-by-wire system by making a differential transmission mechanism 6A brought in a torque split state at a normal time. It changes over to manual steering by constraining a ring gear 20 which is one element of the differential transmission mechanism 6A impossible to rotate by a plunger 23 when an abnormality occurs in the actuator 14 for steering and/or the actuator 22 for reaction. At this time, the differential transmission mechanism 6A works as a speed increaser, but it is possible to make a transmission ratio as a whole of a steering transmission system A, for example, 1:1 by interposing a speed reducer 4A in a torque transmission route of the steering transmission system A.
