PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a retainer from unexpectedly moving into a regular locking position. SOLUTION: A pair of right and left lock pieces 47 are rocking and displacement freely arranged to a retainer 40, and locking pieces 47 are retained at the temporary locking position and the regular locking position respectively by respective engagement of engaging part 50 at the tip end side to a temporary locking protruded part 31, and to a regular locking protruded part 35, In a state of being retained at the temporary locking position, as a bumper face 51 of the engaged part 50 of the lock piece 47 is in a state of opposing at the immediate front of an reversed taper-shaped regulating face 37 of the regular locking protruded part 35, even if the retainer 40 is unexpectedly pushed, the hitting face 51 hits a restriction surface 37 and push-in is restricted. In the case of moving the retainer 40 to the regular locking position after completion of housing of a female terminal 10, a pressurizing operation part 55 of the lock piece 47 is pressed while the retainer 40 is being nipped with fingers from the both side faces. By the above, as the lock piece 47 is rocked and displaced, and the bumper face 51 of the engaged part 50 comes off toward the outside of the constraint face 37, the retainer 40 can be succeedingly thrusted into the regular locking position.
