PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an impact-resistant member which enables energy of a flying object, etc., to be decentralized farther in a surface direction, in clothes, a helmet, shoes, etc., brought into contact with a human body, so as to guard the human body against the flying object and a protrusion. SOLUTION: This impact-resistant member is composed at least of: a film-like sheet layer of a thickness of 0.3 mm or more or a nonwoven fabric-like sheet layer; an opening fiber layer which is composed of at least bidirectionally oriented and laminated sheets wherein a tape-like fiber rod, impregnated with a thermoplastic resin, and opening fibers are arranged in parallel; and an adhesive layer. The modulus of elasticity of the fiber is 50 GPa or more, and the adhesive layer is composed of a thermoplastic resin or an elastomer. In a protective material, a fabric or a sheet material, which is composed of high-strength fibers with a tensile strength of 15 cN/dtex or more, is laminated on the impact-resistant member.
