PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer capable of adjusting the left and right blank values of a print image accurately to desired values, and to provide its blank value correcting method. SOLUTION: Upon receiving a specified command from an operating section 32, a controller 40 forms a test print image in a specified region at the left and right end parts within a printable region being recognized by the set values of left and right blanks and the coordinate values at the left and right ends of paper 2. When measurements of the left and right blanks of the test print image are inputted from the operating section 32, correction values of the left and right blanks are calculated based on the difference between the measurements of the left and right blanks and the set values and then stored in a storage means. When image data is delivered externally, the controller 40 corrects the coordinate values at the left and right ends of the paper 2 based on the detected coordinate values at the left and right ends of the paper 2 and the correction values of the left and right blanks in the storage means. Thereafter, presence of the paper 2 in a region being suggested by the corrected coordinate values at the left and right ends of the paper 2 is recognized and the image data is printed.
