PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing stoneworks, such as a gravestone, a grave marker, and a doorplate, by which the stoneworks can survive for a long time maintaining the high grace, and a required letter/figure display part can be formed so as to firmly and closely stick to a stone base material. SOLUTION: A rubber plate 3 is stuck on a surface of a grave sign stone 2. Next, required letters, etc. are transferred to the rubber plate 3, and the transferred parts are exposed by cutting the rubber plate 3. And then, the letters, etc. exposed from the rubber plate 3 are carved by forming a curved groove 8 by the sandblast method using a sandblast apparatus filled with ceramic abrasives composed of two kinds of abrasives having a large grain size and a small grain size, which are different two times or more. After that, a substrate layer 9 is formed by filling the carved groove 8 with a kneaded substance obtained by kneading the particles of the base stone produced by the sandblast carving and Japanese lacquer fluid.
