VISUAL DISPLAY PROVIDED WITH SECURED ELECTRONIC ARCHITECTURE

The invention relates to a visual display provided with a secured electronic architecture for aeronautic use. Each inventive visual display comprises an electronic calculator and an associated matrix display device. Said invention is used mainly for visual systems comprising a small number of large screens. Said invention consists in structuring the display device into two independent display areas and in dividing the calculator also into two independent subsystems in such a way that the failure of one element involves at farthest the failure of one area of said display device. The invention is mainly used for active matrix liquid-crystalline screens which are provided with fluorescent light illumination. The display areas are embodied in two variants. In the first embodiment, only one part of the screen surface is lost in the case of failure. In the second embodiment, the resolution of a display screen is simply degraded by a factor 2 in the case of failure.
