<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive unit which can be used both for motor with brush and for three-phase brushless motor and enhances the rotating capability of a motor with brush. <P>SOLUTION: The motor drive unit is used for driving a motor provided with a motor driving control portion and a boosting circuit which increases supply voltage. The motor drive unit is provided with a plurality of switching elements so that it is applicable to various types of motors, and is formed as an integral power module.
