LIGHT EMITTING DEVICE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device that can be improved in luminance by effectively utilizing the light emitted from a light emitting element, and to provide a method of manufacturing the device.

SOLUTION: The light emitting device in which a ZnSe-based LED 3 is mounted on a mounting substrate 10 has an insulating resin 1 and a thin metallic piece 2 held so that the piece 2 may be exposed on the surface of the resin 1. The thin metallic piece 2 is exposed on the surface of the resin 1 on which the ZnSe-based LED is arranged and curved to surround the light emitting element from the bottom side.
