<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pyroelectric sensor with enhanced intrusion detection performance in arbitrary directions, and a lighting device with such a pyroelectric sensor also facilitating installation work. <P>SOLUTION: Pyroelectric elements are made by disposing elements as both side pairs so that the polarities of neighboring light receiving surfaces are different from each other are used. As condensing lenses, each have such an omnidirectional lens pattern that each center point 6 with respect to a plurality of detection beams 5 corresponding to the elements disposed as both side pairs are positioned on concentric circles in relation to the center 8 of a detection area 7 are use.
