<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk player in which optimum laser power is obtained in a short time at the time of normal operation. <P>SOLUTION: This disk player is provided with a laser drive circuit 6 which supplies a drive signal to an optical head 5 and adjusts power of a laser beam emitted by the optical head 5, and a control circuit 7 detecting an error rate of a reproducing signal and controlling operation of the laser drive circuit 6. The control circuit 7 retrieves a boundary value of one side out of two boundary values at which an error rate becomes the prescribed value or its near value, repeats processing of calculating optimum reproduction power on the basis of the retrieved boundary value of one side as reference. At the time, the control circuit 7 retrieves a new boundary value, using a boundary value obtained by the last optimum reproduction calculating processing as reference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
